HUCSC Market
Who we are

Built by
students,
for students.

HUCSC Market was started by three Huron students with the same goal: connect students who need textbooks with students who are looking to sell their used ones. No middleman. No fees. No cut for us.

The problem

Full price for
one semester.

Throughout our time at university, we noticed many students have run into the same thing: paying full price for textbooks that are only going to be used for a few months, then sit in a bin.

What we built

A way
around it.

A marketplace where students sell their used textbooks straight to other students. You set your own price, you keep all of it, and you meet on campus to hand the book over.

Our mission

Make it easier and cheaper to get what you need, from people who already have it.

We are not a bookstore. We do not hold your money, we do not mark up your price. Our goal is to keep good textbooks out of landfills and make university life a little more affordable for everyone.

Where we stand

Four things we never do.

01

Take a cut.

The price on the listing is the price you get. We have no commission, no listing fee, and no premium tier.

02

Touch your money.

There is no checkout on this site. Cash or e-Transfer, directly between the two of you, in person.

03

Mark up a price.

Sellers set their own number. We never adjust it, and we never show you a different one than the seller typed.

04

Sell your data.

Your email is used to sign you in and nothing else. We do not run ads and we do not share your contact details until you choose to reveal them.

The three of us

Huron students, same problem.

We run this between classes. If something is broken, one of us reads the email.
